Congrats all...... Incredible news today (news that realistically could have gone either way)........ I've been dancing around the house in my PJ's most of the day..... bloody fantastic !!!
BUT ........
The metric that I really wanted to hear about in detail ...... 'RETENTION' was not elaborated on. To me this metric is the real game changer that would put DRAM in the grave.
Would have loved to know what they mean by 'persistent' memory. eg... 1 minute , 1 day, 1 week or much longer.
I think this might be the metric that they want to keep under wraps until commercialisation ..... I think it is interesting they say that "this is something that will be driven by industry and potential strategic partners as to what level of retention might best define their strategic and commercial plans".........This ability to tune the chip to different metrics appears to give it some incredible flexibility to be used for myriad applications........... how big could this market be ???
