Remember to qualify as a DAU you literally need to be on the platform each day. If you are on the platform 29 days in a 30 day month you will only qualify as a MAU, no different to those who log in once a month or once a week.

So how big do you think the MAU number will look like if they achieve 1 million DAU? Btw they use the expression "over a million users" in the announcement.


I also liked the comments from Doug Barry but particularly this one from the Global GM, Josh Heenan :

"The product is already amazing, but we are determined to make sure that our users absolutely love it and that we stay ahead of the technology and user experience curves. This will create a significant barrier to entry for any potential followers."

Its pretty clear what these guys have been doing over the past 18 months to get to this point and yep, they're not mucking around.
