A capital raising, it just means it is selling more shares to raise more money — more often than not the shares are sold at a discount to a company’s share price at the time to entice new and existing investors.
so, in turn this does often bring a drop in the share price. The next thing is what is that raised money going to be used for? If management want a fancy holidays, a new house, well your holding will take a hit. If that money is used to improve, invest in the business, in a smart way...then your holding will soon improve too...
