A similar thought occurred to me originally IAM was in trading halt until Thursday 2nd of March "or when announcement made to market", I have to admit I was a little surprised to see announcement this morning thought I would have to wait until Thursday.
Perhaps NAB hadn't finished preparing their announcement (multiple departments approval ect) and got caught of guard and a announcement may come from them after clarification between both companies?.
Could possibly as someone else suggested have an additional jump in SP when announcement is made confirming the announcement already made.
