depression is never a homogenous thing it changes all the time not just in its intensity but in its nature you cant measure its nature its hard enough even to define such.Ive been chronically depressed since 1960 and while I call it depression its nature has been constantly altering no test could ever give a measure of such.Psychiatry is actually greatly deteriorating not improving
