As part of the transition from a #Forschung and #Entwicklung focused company to a commercial equipment supplier, Primobius has begun the strategic expansion of its management and senior management. With Dr. Michel Siemon, for the first time, a CEO is now at the helm of Primobius, the joint venture between SMS group and Neometals Ltd. in the field of lithium-ion battery recycling.

Michel Siemon, CEO of Primobius, says:
"With Primobius, we have already achieved some important milestones in the few years since our foundation. At our demonstration plant in #Hilchenbach, we have continuously improved the recycling process and recovery rates. The #Recyclinganlage's shredding and separation unit is now in commercial operation.

With Mercedes-Benz AG and Stelco, we have groundbreaking projects in two key markets, while global interest in our process is growing. We have a clear course for the coming years. My task here will be to concentrate on the strategic development of the company. I am very much looking forward to continuing our success story together with the entire team."

Michel Siemon has been with Primobius since the very beginning. He was responsible for the establishment of the joint venture in 2020 and has been instrumental in driving its strategic positioning to this day. At the same time, he is currently Head of Corporate Development at SMS group. Michel Siemon brings more than ten years of experience in strategic business development in various industries, including automotive, capital goods and metals.

Chris Reed, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Primobius, explains:
"Now is the right time for a strategic expansion of the leadership team. Michel has been on board since the inception of our joint venture. We are pleased that he is now formally part of the management team. He knows all the processes and has already played a decisive role in shaping Primobius' success to date.
