The implied value of the in specie dividend was therefore A$27.2 billion (US$19.6 billion). At this valuation, the in specie dividend is approximately A$5.38 (US$3.86), with A$2.30 (US$1.66) of franking credits being distributed,per BHP share."
For 100 WDS shares would be: The franked div might be $5.38 x 100 = $538.The franking credit might be $2.30 x 100 = $230.The reduction in cost base of existing BHP holdings and addition to cost base of existing WDS might be (29.761 - 5.38 - 2.30) x 100 = $2216.10.
