And don't forget that hydroxychloroquine-induced retinal damage can be asymptomatic in its early stages. Not for nothing do patients get advised to have regular retinal examinations carried out by an ophthalmologist when being treated with this drug. And what is worse, retinal damage may progress to being irreversible.
