No offence intended, but that is not a very accurate depiction of the situation...
The world needs a COVID vaccine, just as there is also a need for ARDS therapies. SI has openly admitted this himself.
MSB also needs partnerships with ‘big pharma’ to assist in sales and distribution for some indications. Look at the opportunities that the Novartis agreement has brought in (and Gruenthal etc).
Regulatory involvement from the FDA is required for approvals and sales; without a pharma regulator the market would be a circus.
