Indeed Phaedrus - my Dad was a big smoker too (probably why I never did it as I recall him waking up and coughing for 5 mins every morning, it was like my alarm clock as a kid). He had COPD for a decade and we lost count of the number of hospital stays in high care wards as the result of exacerbations - he was generally there for 5-7 days - I'd say he spent 250 days in hospital in total, you work out the costs of that vs a couple of infusions of Rem-L and it comes out very favorably on MSB's side.
