Do you think that all doctors who take part in trials should sign a disclosure statement that they do not own shares in a given big Pharma that supplies the drugs for the trial?
Do you honestly think that a doctor/nurse/pharmacist/physio/allied health worker/cleaner that is overseeing a trial medication in patients and notes a given positive effect does not go out and buy shares in that company? Many have become rich on that process. Conflict of interest?

How about the doctor who gets a kickback from the drug company to conduct trials with their drug. More positive the trial, more likely they get further trials and kickbacks. Do they exaggerate the benefits? This is how it currently works and likely the reason MSCs fell behind in recruiting for the Covid trial. I see this as a huge conflict of interest yet it is happening. Very murky area you are entering.

Then there is the guy in the FDA committee who votes against a product and gets a huge donation to his research......

Big money to be made is the USA. It is already corrupt. Owning shares in the company and taking part in trials that are placebo controlled seems a minor conflict of interest compared to others that currently corrupt the system.
