Did they say that verbatim or SI decided to phrase it that way?
The trial would only be COMPLETED when all 300 patients had been recruited and had their randomised treatment as per the trial protocol.
At 233 patients, recruitment was STOPPED
The trial will not be completed.
It will never be accepted as acceptable proof of efficacy by the FDA
The current patients will be followed up and the statitsics analysed as SI tries to do some post hoc analysis to either show the world what has been learned from the experiment or more likely to explain to investors that the money wasn't really wasted and that the failure was actually a success.... somehow.
