As a long term and substantial shareholder, I am delighted with the path management are taking towards a gold resource. The gold price is reflecting current and forthcoming turmoil in global markets, particularly a weakening AUD and lower equity markets. This scenario all goes well for MCT, which is, however, in urgent need of further cash injections. The problem is obvious. We are asset rich, and cashflow poor! We have AB mothballed, whilst we wait for the NA markets to improve. Why can't we scrap the current plan, and dictate our own terms to the market ie, sell, farm out etc, and still retain a small equity? Gold and copper are going to far out perform zinc in the future. I repeat, MCT can't wait for the NA markets to improve in sentiment. We have a very competent Investment Banker on our board, with the experience and ability to activate our sleeping elephant, and so enable our geologists to explore and create gold and copper resources. Our new management should be congratulated for the new focus the company has, but perhaps a well orchestrated asset manoeuvre with AB is essential. Time is becoming crucial.
