Unfortunate decision that could have ramifications for Australian lithium assets. Many 'independant' Aus hard rock mines already have Chinese entities with very significant holdings. Will be interesting to see how FIRB responds if the need for further equity to survive arises. In fact, it could be argued that some are still only operational because of Chinese interests like CATL and such. If a mine in the Congo can't sell a <12% stake to a foreign buyer, I shudder to think what will follow. Sorry, but the horse has already bolted.
