When you instruct a broker to buy you a share, you set a limit in what you're willing to pay right? The broker is bound by law to get it for the cheapest he can up to that limit, is that not correct? Or you select market price and the broker has to buy it for the cheapest he can, not the most expensive, no? So if he makes you pay 4c when he could have for it for 1c then he's ripped you off and broken the law, surely. How is it any different to that?
