    I seriously don't understand how people can have been trading for years and not know how the auction works ffs.

    All volume in the morning and closing auction is traded at the match price. The match price is the price that there is an equal volume that can be executed. i.e all buys above x and all sells below x are equal in volume. X will the execution price in the auction
