Well I’m back. I was suspended for 2 weeks for making benign comments on the AVZ thread because I was a non-holder and had previously caused too much trouble for them over there.. The past 2 weeks have proved I was right about many things inc both AVZ and MTC..
Great to see a number new holders of MTC sharing their views, and thanks Chair, Dion, Wise and others for keeping the discussion going in the meantime..
Q: Why have we not had a flurry of buying this week?
A: I think the answer is purely based on /explained by technicals. Look at this 3-month chart below
What’s evident here is that the Bollinger bands are expanding, the PSAR is rising and the MACD is above the EMA. Basically the chart is now reversing what happened in Jan and Feb.
What is telling for MTC right now is that the selling volumes traded are extraordinarily low both Wed and Thurs this week. It’s just a pause in buying, the stock is catching its breath before the next leg up.
Very exciting week ahead:
“results of 10 hole drilling program at the Adina Lithium Project to be completed this week...”
I thought it was 15-25 holes ? Why shortened ? The answer in my opinion is this:
“MTC has received significant interest from strategic partners and end-users in funding its Cancet & Adina lithium projects through a ‘project-level’ sell down, allowing the Company scope to apply funds towards exploration of its valuable cobalt assets”
In other words, perhaps only 10 holes were needed at Adina (and the results of the 10 holes are enough to satisfy the potential new strategic partners).
We had this article written during the week:
https://**promotion blocked**/resou...ing-cobalt/amp/#click=https://t.co/6RlBFy5vfT
“Now the company has told investors that it has “received significant interest” for a “project-level” sell down of its lithium assets.”
Problem is, this article is using one big fat generalisation.
It is only Cancet and Adina that MTC is considering selling down, not Terres Des Montagnes, Wells Lacouciere, Kapiwak or Sirmac-Clapier. Even then, it is “funding” from potential “strategic partners”, suggesting MTC would retain some interest in both projects.
If MTC does have a funding deal in the pipeline then fantastic, it would mean MTC directors have kicked another goal (remember those site visits in late Feb?)..
One day after I was suspended we had enormous news, which no one here spotted or at least shared:
https://www.juniorminingnetwork.com...-its-lithium-project-financing-endeavors.html
$775-825 million (USD) to fund Whabouchi mine and plant etc
This is RIGHT NEXT DOOR to our Terres Des Montagnes project.
MTC is sitting on some very hot projects
I don’t blame them for refocusing on cobalt, after all cobalt is going to have an even greater supply pinch than lithium, especially ethically-mined cobalt.
To be sure, I was happy with the now abandoned spin out as I thought it would be the simplest way to progress and allow management to focus on the lithium.
However with Cancet and Adina possibly to be sold down at the project level, management will now be able to focus on its other projects and another exciting part in the announcement was this:
“MTC has identified a number of low-cost high value pipeline opportunities in the cobalt space”
.. anyway, in short I think 10 holes rather than 15-25 is good as it limits our costs (the project level deal for Cancet and Adina is probably close to being finalised). Retaining the cobalt assets in light of this, the cobalt price and the supply pinch for ethically mined cobalt, was a good move. Money and crucially TIME saved there too. The board changes are fantastic. A lot of good decisions being made all at once. Excited to see what happens in coming weeks and months as MTC is still grossly undervalued.
Have a great day holders, Adina results should arrive next week.
