May as well show the Chinese parties the door now - nothing but time wasters/tyre kickers.
And why are Minmetals Security Co even engaged to run the bidding process, isn't that the job of MTC? And are there not any other western companies that could run a data room and a set of negotiations to sell a high grade gold mine in the Czech Republic? Seems weird to me. I would suggest that Minmetals Security Co would simply be a back-channel to Chinfeng to communicate what bidders are shaping up at what price, seems pretty foolish to have them involved to me, unless you believe in unicorns and rainbows and trust that Chinese Walls are real and relevant in this situation.
Will be interesting to see who the 4 western possibilities are, at least thats enough to get a bit of competitive tension in the negotiations for MTC to monetize this if they want to.
