you are the only person talking about government grants.
My mentioning of grants was based on what Patriot themselves were saying regarding the timing of profitable power generation (2025). It would not be out of the ordinary for Patriot to apply for (or have previously applied for) grant funding from one of the several government agencies. In fact I would be surprised if they had not applied.
In regards to diesel power, I am not sure of the timing of that previous statement but I would think long and hard about the current pricing and suggest it is a lot more expensive over the past 12 months which may be a hint for you.
When analysing a multivariate system it is necessary to consider the sensitivity of the output to all input variables, not just one.
Sure, the diesel price has increased considerably, however, the cost to manufacture new units will also have substantially increased, as has the cost of transport/logistics, installation, operation, maintenance, and wages, so who wins there is anyone's guess until they install and commission the first unit.
I find it hard to fathom that you have already decided to vote against this.
I think most shareholders already have a preliminary position on whether they'll vote for or against the proposal based on the information we've been given to date. If and when MEL provides further details I will reconsider my position. Currently there are too many unknowns and (as already mentioned) several inconsistencies in the information we have been given to date. A further inconsistency is that we are expected to vote on this proposal at the forthcoming AGM that I assume will be held around December 15th, so less than four months away. And yet in the Market Herald video above, Ken repeatedly talks about the commercial testing period being 6 months, taking us to mid-February. Are we shareholders going to be expected to approve this project well before adequate proof of commerciality has been obtained? Seems like too much of a rush to approve, to me at least, considering the first unit isn't even installed yet, and it might not be installed for several more moneys. I'd prefer Patriot run this plant for at least 6 months after commissioning, bed down the system, and weed out any problems, before we are asked to approve the transaction.
