I agree with your view on timing. IMO the Govt wants to keep the Bentley protests out of the media until after the election. They are still reeling from the ICAC hearings and fear that there is more to come. The view is that they need the bad press from Bentley like a hole in the head at this time as they are expecting the loss of many seats as the polling is indicating. They are quite prepared to sacrifice a small company like Metgasco as we can see. IMO the Govt will be willing to supply police to confront the Bentley protestors after the election. No police = no drilling. The question for Metgasco is whether it can survive until till then and still have funds to drill what has been called, a "high risk " well.
