Oh dear... you amaze with your "health professional" expertise again. Going by what you say there would be no drugs or medicines available for prescription because no research or clinical trials would ever take place due to lack of "evidence" as you call it. Based on your ideology evidence only exist in the form of established drugs but before those drugs were established there was a starting point was there not?

Every pharmaceutical company states an intention before undertaking any kind of research or trial. They need to some how justify what they're doing and why they are doing it. It's the only way new drugs and medicines become available. I have never seen development of a drug without a stated intention i.e. drug/medicine with active ingredient "XY" is being tested on medical condition/ disease "ZX". All these tests and studies are initiated based on a potential of some kind that has been identified in some way or another. What's new here?
