That Tennant Ceek area isn't a hoax, MDI were in the running and competing with BHP and Rio Tinto for some of the tenure in that area, but when it s a competitive approvals process the department will favour those with deep pockets, and the big boys wouldn't be wasting their time and have had much bigger teams than MDI to have decided the area is worth investigating.

If you look at the state geophysics there are corridors there that are prospective for IOCGs, yes the targets are deep but that is the case for most major IOCG discoveries (Carrapateena, Olympic Dam, Oak Dam West). Could they have handled it better, absolutely. Getting rid of RIck who had the background and experience, for this revolving door of part time MDs with no real background in geology and discovery, has not done them any favours, and as a result there has been little work done.
