I was fortunate to hold ALK when they did a demerger of ASM - that has been hugely profitable for holders.
It makes financial sense to spin out the Barkly operation, because yes, it will require funding, and holders of MDI won’t suffer dilution from the associated capital raising.
When holders of MDI get free shares in Barkly operations you can either sell or hold; it’s free money.
