I’m sorry to change direction in this thread and maybe no one is all that interested but one of the reasons I’m so excited by a biomass fuelled HiSmelt is the possibility to optimise/switch between steel production, syngas production (eg aviation fuel) or electricity.
I suspect a million tonne per year HiSmelt fuelled with biomas would quite nicely consume 800,000 tonne per year magnetite feed and produce a few million litres of fuel and a meaningful supply of electricity.
Maybe that’s also interesting the Saudi’s and I expect it should interest the US as well.
