Yesterday's teleconference explains the sequence of events i.e. Ellison and Wade sold their shares a day or so before the Chinese whacked in their revised bid for AWE.
MRL were working toward a bid in January. But, when they Chinese outfit came again, they figured they had to move pronto, to give the AWE board a competitive offer to advise s'holders 'do nothing, we'll get back to ya'.
I doubt Wade and Ellison were privy to the Chinese outfit's improved bid at the time they sold their shares.
