Hi chuk, to answer your post
Firstly I got that data from a few different places, not all from the same site, however all was from Talus.
From this link https://ammoniaenergy.org/articles/talus-renewables-modular-renewable-fertilizers-in-kenya-iowa/
They said:
“Talus has also designed a 10 tonne per day facility (requiring 11.5 MW of solar power input) “
Now to answer your post, I’d say the 11.5mw is just an average output, just as most home solar systems quote an average output.
Without reading into it too much, I think its fair to assume they have a system that averagely produces 11.5mw based on 7 hrs a day.
In the below link (listen from 13:40 ) the CEO of Talus says it’s designed to run off solar assuming 7 hours of production per day, so the solar cells are producing enough MW to power the plant on average 7 hours per day over the contract period - just my interpretation.
Agree that equates to 3.4X, so I’m conservative on possible production, however no plant operates 24/7 at 100%, so say 85% up time would be a good result.
