hey z, nickel and cobalt still needed for high performance batteries and other uses, it just mass market batteries will be lithium iron phosphate such as in my base model Tesla. If I wanted the performance or long range model it would be the nickel version. But already being faster than 80% of cars on the road and with nearly 500km of range I don't need it. Lfp is great for solar and wind battery storage but I think Tesla still use nickel based batteries. It horses for courses I guess, both types are experiencing exponential growth it's just that lfp will dominate
