re: Ann: Mines Money Hong Kong Presentation -... HM,
Some very insightful and well researched views, thank you
I have recently read that Baoutou, the world’s largest Rare Earth producer, is now in a screaming uptrend on the Chinese stock exchange – this I believe is a prelude as to what lies ahead for the likes of NTU, Lynas and Moly
Moly paid around $1.3 billion to acquire Neo Materials, small change indeed to gain control of a vital industry, and in the not too distant future will seem like a bargin
The world at large is still to grasp that there just will not be enough HREE to go around, and a buying panic in HREE stocks will erupt when it does
Chinas tactics will also precipitate demand for rare earth stocks themselves which will come from a source we have not witnessed before …… manufacturers …
yes its only a matter of time before manufacturers realize that the only way to secure supply for themselves is to acquire the mining companies for themselves, a tactic they will eventually realize will also deny their competitors such resources – far fetched as it sounds now – imagine if the only alternative is going out of business – what will the likes of Toyota, Mitsubishi, General Electric, Siemens and Hitachi do to ensure supply and stay in business
then add to this the huge demand for Yttrium from the US Military :-
The Defence Department's new report, Rare Earth Materials in Defence Applications, says there are military applications for seven of the rare earths: dysprosium, erbium, europium, gadolinium, neodymium, praseodymium and yttrium.
By its estimate, US production next year will be sufficient for military requirements of six of those.
The exception is yttrium; a particularly scarce element in a sub-class of rare earths known as a "heavy" that is used in precision lasers and stabilisers in rocket nose cones.

in such circumstances a bull market the likes of which we have never seen before will erupt and like you said “pale to insignificance the U and Gold rushes of the past”
