They're probably hoping that a number of shareholders have recorded capital gains during the year and will benefit at tax time by having a capital gains loss to reduce those gains. Who knows if shareholders will have capital gains in future years and if so will there be an offset available to reduce any such gain. So doing it this year may be an attraction.
I'll be posting my form in nonetheless - mainly because I don't hold many shares and at 0.001 it's all pretty useless.
