You raise a great point, and it highlights how much people are underestimating the partnership with Aleees. It's a proven technology that is currently in production. No further R&D needed, no pilot plants, no byproducts needed. Brian Campbell himself has said all components for the LFP plant are readily available off the shelf.

This point is further reinforced in Joe Lowry's recent chat with one of the pioneers of LFP Dennis Geoffroy (link to chat below). Dennis's view is that there is a lack of IP in the western world around LFP production, because China's domination basically priced everyone else out. Now that LFP is back as the "mass market" EV cathode of choice, companies are scrambling to put together Non-Chinese LFP supply chains. The Aleees partnership gives Avenira a massive head-start and along with Freyr and ICL and there is enough demand out there to suit all three. In fact, Dennis welcomes competition across the board, and recognises the importance of multiple players participating in the LFP industry.
