IMO as a shareholder, it would be hasty to be dismissive of NB's involvement as chairman because

a) he previously left TNG and
b) "is only back for the benefit of PB"

Maybe he left TNG as he had foreseen the potential ascension of lithium with the rise of EV battery demand, and decided that was a more exciting career path at the time. Of course, TNG is about much more than vanadium alone, however with VRFB's coming to the fore as a potential driver of the vanadium market, maybe he sees that pattern again and wants back in.

Also I would not underestimate his ability to progress projects just because he has a geologist qualification. The following quote from a Jan 2021 article is a good snapshot.

"Biddle, a veteran company director, took Pilbara Minerals (ASX : PLS) from sub-$10m shell to +$1bn lithium miner in under five years. Acquiring the company-making Pilgangoora project in 2014, Biddle stepped down three years later with project funding in place and construction well underway."

It appears a timely appointment for where TNG is currently at.

Per PLS "Change of Director's Interest Notice" 13 June 2013 he had ~17M PLS shares when SP was ~$0.01, which if he still had today would be worth ~A$61M. I don't know the exact numbers but saw that at one stage he owned more than 2.5% of PLS and was in the T20. Latest T20 from GRV where he recently stepped down as MD but still owns shares shows him having 7.12%. Point being he has a track record in this regard.
