It seems Lulo has some special diamonds included for sale at the first Trans Atlantic Gem Sales rough diamond tender in Luanda for this year.
'This sale will showcase 36 exceptional +10.80ct rough diamonds from the following 7 mines; Tchegi, Lulo, Somiluana, Kaixepa, Chitotolo, Catoca and Luele.' ... 'electronic bidding closing on March 13th at 10:00AM (Luanda time)' - source, Trans Atlantic Gem Sales on LinkedIn.
I think reasonable to expect an announcement from Lucapa following this tender (tomorrow), what diamonds were sold, and value of the sale(s).
Assuming no +100 carat diamonds but you would expect the Lulo diamonds will still command high prices.
The production from Lulo has been unusually quiet in terms of specials recovered, particularly given the work done on river diversions etc. I suppose that's the nature of alluvial diamond mining - unpredictable.
