Life of Mine is the last thing that we need to be worried about.
The company could have buried $000,000's on the drill bit alongside the construction and development work - but it would have added risk and potential for further dilution to the project. The only people that would have satisfied is investors looking for a quick fix MCAP rise and exit.
We already have inferred resource almost twice the measured and indicated levels we reported in the BFS for 8 years production - and that is before we even look into some of the totally undrilled tenement landscape. We know that the Klondyke shear is open at length and depth (undrilled) over the current results on the drill bit. We know we have similar (albeit smaller) shears in Highway and St Georges with similar geological signals that haven't seen the drill bit, and we know we have unexplored regional geography.
We are within 6 months of a guaranteed 8 years LOM, it won't take us long to prove up more of the inferred resource and start to stick some holes in the unexplored geography. That's before we look into picking up orphan deposits.
We will be funding the LOM extension drilling from operating revenue. We also now have our own metallurgy lab, so we're not going to be a slave to the waiting list that is dogging the industry.
Dave Reeves has stated that Warrawoona will be in production for decades. I see no reason to doubt him. Of course, it's his job to raise hope and expectation, but from the base geographic signs, and what we already know from the drill bit - 8 years is just a start.
