the regulation says that the 15th Dec to 6th Jan doesn’t count for a reason

pretty clear what had happened here -

the company has (finally) said - look you’re way over due here and it’s causing our SH to step out of bounds. We need something a bit more concrete from you on status and what we can expect

and the DEFF has said - not our fault, backlog from covid blah blah blah. We are not committing to Dec because it’s too soon and we are breaking for Xmas. So let’s just give ourselves some time, call it end Jan and we’ll make sure we get it sorted in the new year. It probably doesn’t actually take that long, but they’ve given themselves a timeline that can meet without having to rush around.

let’s be honest - we’d all do exactly the same thing. Under-promise and sort it out in the new year.

was pretty clear when we found out there was still paperwork going back and forward that December was not going to happen given the Xmas break.

I maintain that if the company was more proactive we could have got to this point sooner, but here we are. And that doesn’t have to mean interfering with due process, but they were maybe a little too much on the side of we’ll just patiently wait and say nothing. Sometimes you do have to be a bit of a squeaky wheel.

so, no big surprises here. At least there is a timeline that has been committed to now. Plenty happy to load up on a Christmas gift and wait for bags in the new year.

By then hopefully we’ll have the infill drilling results too. Don’t forget, the catalyst for the last spike was the resource upgrade. That hasn’t gone anywhere.
