From my previous knowledge It is 298 kms by road to Leonora and then load onto train . Leonora is 235 kms to Kalgoorlie and then a further
392 Kms to Esperance. Leonora to Esperance should be rail a lot less than road transport. This is a significant break through for GWR because it opens up Esperance as potential port for exporting. If GWR starts thinking about using Esperance as main port and putting 5+mil tons PA then I would think Esperance port will do their best to accommodate GWR.
