I think the complexity of offering foreign shares and requiring everyone to get an international share registry for taxation purposes would preclude them from making the gratis shares in TSR, but I'll admit I'm not overly familiar with these processes myself.

I agree, they could have held it together with a joint listing of MMJ on the TSX, but this allowed a capital raise without directly diluting MMJ shares for us ASX holders, its like selling off simple assets to gain money for further capital purposes. Only thing is we retain 69% of ownership and can continue to utilise the access for phytotech purposes, so essentially still 'vertically integrated' while spreading our wings and the love!

I think the market aren't overly excited about this announcement or are still taking time to digest, the rise today was definitely based off hype pre-announcement. Come Christmas time and some long overdue crop production news this will be a good turning point IMO.
