Will be interesting to see how it goes. There are a few similar services that continue to currently exist and serve a niche for a particular game; over here in Aus there's presence from ESEA, CEVO, Cybergamer at least. I know Garena used to be the SEA market kings, but not sure how things are looking these days.

It's a hard market to monetise, a lot of gamers are keen to compete for prizes in open leagues, but in the past only the elite leagues had paid entry and it usually was not collecting more than covering prizes. Staff weren't usually paid much or at all -- most of these sites had strong forums that attracted volunteers who would help with administration and even some small bits of development out of a sense of community.
