Agree.
MPL won't be the only successful treatment, and we have to look beyond MPL to the patient population.

I came across a ALS community person comment that stopped me:

"I first worked in ALS around 2003 and have witnessed "victory is in sight" rhetoric, workshops, hearings, and conferences ever since. The net result? More confirmation of how self-righteous, self-perpetuating and generally clueless the US players in ALS are and have been, missing myriad opportunities to improve lives in favor of peddling inspiration porn and misleading characterizations of what to do when and why.

In contrast with many other disease states, pretty much every criterion for a productive ecosystem is missing, and yes, that includes the supposedly more compassionate/effective ALS startups.”

There is a huge bundle of hope embedded in those little pills we are manufacturing.

We hope to make a significant chunk of life extension available, and others like Coya or SPG might fill the gap, or Nicky might work up some magic - we will have to wait and see.
