Yes, everyone is using 5 years ago because that is the best point to make it look like they are not cherry picking when they really are. The conveniently forget that they could use the complete history rather than some arbitrary point that suits their narrative.
I do however, stand corrected, it is not the lowest price, it is lowest price that could be reasonably used while pretending to not cherry pick the data.
