Does anyone think that shorting individual stocks is a stupid strategy no matter how smart you are?
You will capture none of the upside and all of the downside. It’s akin to sitting in an all cash portfolio due to “the market will crash”. Meanwhile the market keeps running and by the time it does crash you are too scared to “catch a falling knife”.
The “market neutral” strategy is bullcrap. In a bull market you are lagging. In a bear market everything is going to get smashed. I fail to see an advantage in market neutral strategies?
