0023 GMT - Not even a post-Covid surge in migration into New Zealand has saved the economy which contracted 0.3% in 3Q. And a technical recession over 4Q of 2022 and 1Q of 2023 that got revised is now back in the data. The Kiwi economy is in a much weaker place than originally thought, says Jarrod Kerr, chief economist at Kiwibank. On a per capita basis, there was a large 0.9% contraction in 3Q, and the economy is down 3% over the year, he says. Kerr is forecasting a double-dip recession. What would we expect with all the indigenous nonsense that is going on there? I have been looking at this stock for some time but reports like the one above make me hesitant.
