One thing I'm pretty sure about, is that cobalt producers would be a net beneficiary of any trade war involving China. As China has acquired 30% of Glencore's future production, in any trade war this would not be available to Americans, so where are they going to go for their cobalt? For one thing, it would get more expensive for them, assuming the new EV industries in the US have a somewhat inflexible demand.
