As a shareholder, I hope your optimism and maths are justified and will be delivered on. But I question views such as "the market's got it wrong", implying that when investors wake up things will change. It sounds a bit like the lone soldier who says everyone except him is marching out of line.
Share price is usually dictated by the buying and selling of big investors, not traders with relatively small holdings. I would think those big investors have done the maths themselves, so you'd think that if the prospects for AZY are really so good, more would want in and the share price would naturally rise. To me, the fact that it's not could mean:
(a) you're right, and people just haven't woken up to the possibilities; or
(b) the price is being kept artificially low via strategic buying and selling; or
(c) the prospects are actually not so good.
I hope it's not (c), and that the optimism of holders is warranted. Of course, good results will change things quickly. But after several recent reports which seemed good to me, it's clear that much better results are required to provide the kick-start. No one knows if those results are coming, irrespective of the size and promise of AZY's ground, our JVs, and proximity to Telfer. So, while I remain hopeful, I’ve moved a long way from thinking that it’s in the multi-bag and just a matter of time.
