Can management control the SP... NO....but yes, there is some limited SP control whilst the buyback is occurring but after that it is purely mkt dictate. Karoon is already undervalued by most standards, yet the SP is still the undervalued SP... Theoretically a buyback should increase the SP and be even more accretive if the company is engaged in value adding activities about to bear fruit, but it is not guarranteed to work that way and will depend on global conditions at any given time. Also in this new foolish world of renewables and despite current fantastic profits, there is much ongoing resistance to traditional energy stocks. Dividends go directly to my bank account and is a guaranteed outcome .....AIMO.
