Your argument is bizarre and quite frankly contradictory.
This is a technology that was funded by private capital to address an issue that is in part within the government mandate; given that they at least partly fund some of those RACs either directly or indirectly.
How is this a government handout when it will save carers time they can then spend dedicating to more productive tasks, it will also save money as you as a tax payer subsidize the medicine those poor people are being wrongly prescribed. If you think that it will save less than $60/annum per patient on average you are mistaken.
You should be cheering this announcement given your arguments, as it is both good for you as a tax payer and good for those patients which is part of the social contract we all agreed to abide by when choosing to live in this society; you know ...looking after each other via Medicare, the age pension etc. That has nothing to do with being a communist.

So if tomorrow a private company invents an app that can solve our maths skills shortages in schools for let’s say $50m/year will you go up in arms and scream murder even though it can literally save billions on that white elephant that is Gonski as well as provide us with a better educated work force down the track?
