You will have heard of the $5M Federal Government grant announcement for PainChek by Minister Wyatt this week.

I just wanted to thank you for your initiative to write to Ken in the first place to put PainChek on his radar.

While the process was complex and took some time – your initial communication and initiative was a pivotal moment in kick starting the process to the obtain the grant.

Also asked if it was in the bag or if Labor could can it ....

In terms of the fund – this is a ministerial commitment for the budget year 2019-2020 and signed off by Minister Wyatt while in office and prior to the election being announced. So, it’s mandated - although I still need to finalise the contract with the DoH and aim to have this completed prior to July 1st 2019.

It’s also relatively a small amount of money and apolitical. So a Labour government should not make this an issue.
