I only got as far as your first paragraph as rarely bother reading any further, such is the case here.
What I was under the impression about the life span of the satellites including the three diamonds.
Is that they can last a substantionaly longer time up there than 4 years.
However the plan is to rotate the constellation and update whatever software and new technology that may become available on a 4 year rotation so they always have the latest and greatest tech available.
Didn't think that they would simply become in operational due to being up there for 4 years.
Can someone please clarify the correct operational life span of the sats orbiting around up there?
