I agree the devil is in the details and it could be really good or not that great.
What I want to know is how Amer intends to get 70% of the shares - is it by agreeing to buy them from shareholders or by way of a new issue, after all the regulatory steps first no doubt.
The other thing that comes to mind is that Amer would be underwriting cash profits for a company it owns 70% of - so realistically it's not like it's handing the money directly to the residual 30% of holders (assuming the transaction goes ahead as described).
I'm still pretty keen to see NTL get up and running in bulk sampling by way of Kiwi and Aussie investors putting up their capital - that way we own it and as the communist lefties say, "the profits stay here".
