I'm no expert, but I think Block caving is still far from common, and more applicable to very large ore bodies. Operational costs are very low for movement of bulk tonnes, but the capital costs are significant. At this stage, we don't know how deep the ore body is. Typically block caves are constructed at the bottom of the ore body - or in very deep bodies there might be a cave at one height, and another at the bottom from memory.
