Of course they do. Their jobs depend on it. The presentation is disingenuous, however. This is very poor quality data. Post-hoc analyses are a means of identifying new avenues of exploration, and certainly NEVER provide any proof of a hypothesis as they are subject to significant bias. To criticise the FDA in this presentation as they have is astonishing, as they have no valid reason to do so. The FDA were 100% correct in their ruling.
